Rapper Nelly celebrates 5 years of Apple Bottoms with Freed’s Bakery of Las VegasLAS VEGAS, Nevada, February 15, 2008 – Rapper Nelly celebrated the 5th anniversary of his Apple Bottoms clothing company at Tao, a restaurant and nightclub located inside of the Venetian Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip. Specially made for this occasion was a “Booty Cake” by Freed’s Bakery of Las Vegas.
The spectacular dessert began as five layers of chocolate cake, Freed’s signature Bavarian cream filling, and a vanilla fondant exterior. The addition of edible dragée studs along with other finishing details completed this Apple Bottoms design. Decoration of the cake, which took between 3 and 4 hours, was one part of a multi-stage process, using all of the resources and combined experience of the team at Freed’s Bakery.
Freed’s Bakery has served the Las Vegas area for the past 49 years, and has been featured on such shows as The Food Network’s “Roker on the Road,” “$40 a Day with Rachael Ray,” “Sugar Rush,” and “After Midnight.” Freed’s has also been featured on Lifetime’s “Top This Party,” Hawaiian Airlines’ “The Best of Las Vegas,” and “Las Vegas Live.” Freed’s has been featured in Bon Appétit, Martha Stewart Weddings, People’s Amazing Real Life Weddings, and Conde Nast Traveler. Freed’s has been voted Best of Las Vegas by the Las Vegas Review Journal’s Reader’s Choice for the last 26 years, and has been recognized by AOL City’s Best and The Knot’s Best of Weddings 2007.
