LAS VEGAS, Nevada, November 3, 2008 – Last night rap superstar Nelly celebrated his 34th birthday at the Lavo Restaurant and Nightclub.  Nelly was presented with a custom 2009 Ford Flex for the occasion, a gift from the evening's host--the Ford Motor Company.  Also presented to Nelly that night was a 2009 Ford Flex cake, designed by Freed's Bakery of Las Vegas.

The Ford Flex was the largest automobile cake we have ever attempted here at the bakery.  Many layers of white cake and chocolate mousse were stacked before any of the sculpting could begin.  In addition to the baking involved, the carving and decorating was a process that began the day before Nelly's party and was finished only moments before the cake was delived to Lavo.  The first dessert that Freed's Bakery created for Nelly was a pair of shapely jeans for the fifth anniversary of Apple Bottoms.  We hope Nelly continues to use us for all of his celebrations in Las Vegas.
