Freed's Bakery Cooks Up Something Special for Mr. Hefner LAS VEGAS, NV, March 25, 2007 - Hugh Hefner’s 81st birthday party raged on into its second night at the Playboy Club yesterday, located inside the beautiful Palms Hotel. Freed’s Bakery has made cakes for Mr. Hefner before, and last night we were proud to once again cater the event. We at the bakery wish Mr. Hefner many more happy years.
The full sheet cake combined Freed’s moist and delicious white cake with fresh strawberries and Bavarian cream filling (Mr. Hefner’s favorite). An edible image of Mr. Hefner with Holly, Bridget, and Kendra adorned the top of the cake and the decorators at Freed’s hand painted the girls’ birthday wishes in gold. The cake was draped in white fondant and intricate scroll work marked the borders.
Freed's Bakery has served the Las Vegas area for the past 49 years, and has been featured on such shows as The Food Network’s “Roker on the Road,” “$40 a Day with Rachael Ray,” “Sugar Rush,” and “After Midnight.” Freed’s has also been featured on Lifetime’s “Top This Party,” Hawaiian Airlines’ “The Best of Las Vegas,” and “Las Vegas Live.” Freed’s has been featured in Bon Appétit, Martha Stewart Weddings, People’s Amazing Real Life Weddings, and Conde Nast Traveler.
