Busiest Day Ever at Freed’s Bakery of Las VegasLAS VEGAS, Nevada, July 8, 2007 - Saturday has always been the busiest day of the week at Freed’s Bakery. July 7th, 2007 however, was anything but a normal Saturday -- it was a date that Las Vegas had been preparing for since January. In a city that loves auspicious signs, this astrological anomaly (7/7/7) drew brides and grooms in record numbers. Thanks to those numbers, Freed’s Bakery did a record-breaking number of cakes for a single day.
The Clark County Marriage License Bureau will issue anywhere between 500 and 700 licenses on a busy day during the summer. However, on the 6th and 7th a total of 2,599 marriage licenses were issued. Some estimates placed the number of weddings at over 3,000 on Saturday! The Recorder’s Office reported 13,259 weddings for the month of July: a 3,791 increase over June. While it is difficult to come up with an exact number of weddings for Saturday, it was definitely a record-breaking day.
Freed’s Bakery usually creates anywhere between 40 and 60 cakes on a Saturday, but in the 24 hour period covering Friday and Saturday, we created 240 cakes -- a 600% jump! The day ran smoothly thanks to our talented team, which includes our delivery drivers, overseeing the delivery of 140 cakes. An exciting day all around for brides, grooms, and Freed’s Bakery!
